Longleaf Stories

full circle in the hundred acre wood

Miles City, Montana. We’ve been back from New Zealand for just over three months — hard to believe — and Scotland for a month. Moved into a rental house, complete with tacky rental furniture, and signed a contract to start construction of a new home in Pensacola.

We arrived in Rapid City, South Dakota last Saturday. Since then we have spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in Newcastle, wyoming; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Miles City, Montana. Either tomorrow or Monday we’ll head back to Rapid, then on to Nebraska on Wednesday morning to the Bar Hazy K Ranch.

From the weird record-breaking heat to the very small towns, national grasslands and allergy attacks, complete with swollen face and numb lips necessitating trips to the Little Sisters of Mercy clinic, plus Buck’s bad luck so far in the hunt, this trip has taken on a surrealistic aura.

Speak. Leave a memory.
