Longleaf Stories

full circle in the hundred acre wood

Toward the end of February, a reporter for The Pensacola News Journal, Sonja Lewis, called to say she was planning a feature story on blogs and bloggers in the Pensacola area and had come across mine during her initial research. Surprised, a little nervous and a lot curious, I agreed to an interview.

The story came out yesterday. My first reactions were cold, clammy hands, dizziness and a queasy tummy. Those were my second and third reactions, too! Despite that, I think Sonja wrote a fine piece and organized it well. The printed version (vs. on-line) really shows the organization of her story better, because in it you can see an actual photograph of a blog page (Inner Life of Moss picture!), and profiles of other local bloggers are in a box with a blue tint so they stand out well. The print version also shows a blue-tinted block with the headline “Want to Blog?” Inside that box are helpful hints on how to get started, plus urls for typepad, blogger, livejournal and others.

The electronic road to our woods has gotten more crowded for a few days. Some of you have had experience with this phenomenon. Ebb and flow. Flow and ebb.
