July 13, 2008 note:  Ariel (the artist) will enter Mississippi State University’s School of Architecture in a few weeks on full academic scholarship. She reports enjoying her summer job at Caldwell Associates, a local architecture firm, and is fired up about going away to college. You go, girl!


Sixteen year olds. Easy to dismiss them?


To be blown away by their creativity and technical savoir faire?

Uh huh.

Our granddaughter, Ariel N. Westmark, dashed off these cartoon images at her dad’s office while waiting for him to get off the phone.


It’s a little hard to see, but the art hanging behind the desk is a print of Einstein.


And then a teenage editorial comment on parents . . . .
