LONGLEAF STORIES

full circle in the hundred acre wood

Coyote on 10-18-08 Can you see him? I was just about to open the front door to take a picture of the newly turned field out front, when I looked up to see this fellow laconically strolling over the disked earth. By the time I grabbed my camera and got to the nearest window, he was just at the edge of the woods and turned to look back.

I agree with fletch’s assessment of the picture. I am often treated to the howls of coyotes, late at night as I work in my loft, from the forest at the foot of the mountains.
