LONGLEAF STORIES

full circle in the hundred acre wood

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2)A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Listening to Roy Dotrice narrate is like having a favorite, slightly scandalous, old uncle read a book to you that would not be on your mother’s approved bedtime story list. It’s a delicious pleasure while I’m making soup on a rainy morning or enjoying insomnia in the middle of the night. Of course, George R. R. Martin is one hell of a storyteller, but Mr. Dotrice’s work as narrator is really the cherry on top for me. Even my two year old chocolate Labrador retriever, Longleaf Lou, settles right in to listen and forgets all about crashing thunderstorms.
